Triangle LED Sphere Display: it’s composed of PCB board with triangle shape; we call it Football LED Display.
Advantage: Overcome the shortcomings of watermelon Peel LED Display, can show images properly in North and South poles, and improve the image usage rate;
Disadvantage: Too much PCB board categories, Pixel pitch can’t be too small because of pixels are arranged in honeycomb, Software programming is complicated. See below Picture 3
Features of LED Globe Display
1- Most creative and innovative design of LED Display products, attractive and outstanding shape design, with vivid video and image broadcasting, make the LED Sphere Display as a artwork and icon for shopping mall, square etc;
2- The Playing Principle of LED Display: The LED Display Control System (Controller+ Computer) transfer the image source which is being playing on the computer to plane led display and show them on the display.
All the image source in the world are almost plane, if we want to transfer the plane image source to the three dimensional led sphere display and play them without any processing , that almost impossible. Luckily is that the sphere is round, each individual viewer cannot see every sides of the led sphere display, one can only see a small part of the sphere. That also something to do with the diameter of the Led Sphere display, if the diameter of the led sphere display is large enough, the effective viewing would be only 1/6 of the sphere area (view of angle), and the other 5/6 is not available to be seen or not you are looking at, because this 5/6 at backside, left side, above and below. For this, there are playing methods as follows:
1- To play 6 different image sources on 6 different sides of the sphere;
2- To play 3 different image sources on 3 sides of the sphere (e.g. Left Rear, Upper Right, front under face);
3- To play 2 different image sources on 2 sides of the sphere (Front Right on the backside, Top Left Down). And you can also play the plane image source on the whole sphere just like the watermelon peel led sphere display does;
The design of the led sphere display resolution is the same as the plane led display, it’s closely related to the viewing distance, normally if the pixel pitch is P2.5, and the best viewing distance would be beyond 2.5 meters, and beyond 6 meters for P6. If that’s a P20 outdoor led display, beyond 20 meters would be the best viewing distance, it would be the same in real life, it’s an obscure option, it’s qualitative not quantitative, on the basis of the following:
The Led display is just like the computer display, the images that’s been played are all made up of pixels, and each pixel is made up of red, green and blue color. Between each pixel there will be a certain distance, and we call this distance pixel pitch ‘PH’. The screen resolution of the computer display is set to be 1024x768; there will have 1024 pixels on its horizontal direction and 768 on its vertical direction. It’s enough to display a subtle image.
If the physical size of the vertical direction on the computer screen is 300mm, and then the pixel pitch on the computer screen would be: PH=300/768=0.39mm (Pictured 11)
Ph is an important parameter of any digital led display.
We surveyed: the distance from human eyes to the computer display is D=450mm, and then the angel between 2 adjacent pixels and human eyes would be θ.
Then there will have equation θ=Arctg0.39/450
If we take the computer 30,000mm away from the operator, and also we change the computer display to Led display or Led Sphere display, which means the distance from the human eyes to the led display or led sphere display, would be 30,000mm.
As we can see, if the pixel perception of the image (or resolution) remains unchanged, the θ angle should also stays the same. The only thing need to be changed is the ‘ph’. Based on equation (1) there will have the equation:
θ=Arctg0.39/450=ArctgPh/30,000+450,and then we can get the PH is around 26mm, that is to say we will set the pixel pitch of led the sphere display to 15-20mm, and by that time, the definition of the led sphere display should be enough and reasonable. Also if we take a look30 meters away, the definition of the led sphere display would be the same as the effect that we see it in front of the computer. If the value of the distance between people and the led sphere display are different, and the value of the PH could be get based on above stated calculation.
